About Us
Hi Nabor LogoThe logo across the front of our three Hi Nabor Supermarket locations says "We're Homegrown.

Sam Crifasi and seven of his nine children who work in the family business take this phrase to heart. Mr. Sam with his daughter Jan, and six sons, Jim, John, Jeff, Jerry, Philip and Joey along with a dedicated team of managers, share the responsibilities for operating the three supermarkets.

In 1963, Sam Crifasi and his brother Francis Crifasi (now retired and no longer affiliated with the business) opened the first Hi Nabor at 7201 Winbourne Ave. The original Winbourne store was 5,000 square feet and has grown over the years to its present 30,000 square feet. In 1982, our family opened our largest supermarket, a 50,000 square foot store at 5383 Jones Creek Road. Ten years later in 1992, we added a third location in the Drusilla Shopping Center. We were the first supermarket to install register scanners in a three state area (Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi).

Associated Food Stores LogoOur stores have always been supplied by Associated Grocers (AG) of Baton Rouge. With the help of our partner AG we are able to offer our customers the finest, freshest meat and produce at a price that will meet or beat any competition in the Baton Rouge area. We also pride ourselves in offering our customers homegrown produce and fresh Louisiana seafood.

We know our customers because we were all born and raised here in Baton Rouge and give our 'nabors' what they want, when they want it with a smile and a thank you.
